INSTRUCTIONS FOR NEWTONIAN CONFIGURATION |
| The EarthWin Optical “All In One” Binoviewer System for newtonians must be adjusted first to assure reaching focus in all three magnifications. Once set for a particular newtonian telescope, no further adjustment will be necessary, unless used in a different newtonian. |

ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE |
Step 1 - With eyepieces in and lens cap off, insert system into your focuser.
Step 2 - Push thumb tab 1 to the center position (Fig. C) and bring to focus. If focus is not achieved, then withdraw system from focuser. |
 |
 |
|
Step 3 - Un-thread adjustable sleeve out approximately 1/4’’ (Fig. D) and re-insert into your focuser. Bring to focus. If focus is achieved proceed to step 4. If not, repeat this procedure until focus is achieved. |
Step 4 - With focus achieved, tighten lock ring. (Fig. E) No further adjustment will be necessary unless used in a different newtonian. |

| FILTER SLIDE INSTRUCTIONS |
The EarthWin Optical Power/ Filter Slide includes two empty filter cells which can be loaded with 2’’ filters by the user. Filters are held in place by a non-marring nylon tipped set screw and tightened with a supplied hex wrench. The Filter Cells can be loaded or easily withdrawn from the housing and replaced by different cells in a matter of seconds (see Fig. F). Extra 2” filter cells and 1 1/4” adapter cells can be purchased seperately and come in square plastic filter cases. The Filter Slide is independent of the Power Slide so filters can be introduced at any time. |
 |
|
| Step 1 - Using the thumb tabs (3 & 4),pull both holders out of the Filter Slide. Insert your filters and seat to the bottom of the holder. Tighten set screws firmly to hold the filter in. |
| Step 2 - Re-insert the filter holders into the slide (filter holders are marked “L” and “R” on top corners). You are now ready to Filter Slide. Fig. G shows no filter in the light path. Figure H and I show filters pushed into position. |

| DIOPTER INSTRUCTIONS |
| Eyepiece Loading Procedure |
Our Dioptors are a non-marring split ring design that centers and locks the eyepiece as the user tightens the top knurled ring. To load an eyepiece simply hold the bottom knurl firmly with one hand and rotate the top black knurled ring counter-clockwise to loosen enough to recieve an eyepiece. Once the eyepiece is inserted, again hold the bottom knurl firmly and rotate the top black knurled ring clockwise until eyepiece is firmly tightened. Now, with eyepiece locked into place, both rings can be used to dioptor. |
| |
| Diopter Adjustment |
Dioptor adjustment can be done in several ways depending on the user's preference. After adjusting the dioptors a couple of times the user will develop the preferred method for his or her eyes. Ideally, the end result is to have both eyes in sharp focus without over-extending the dioptors. This helps keep the light path shorter and maintains accuracy of the dioptor. |
| |
| Instructions |
Start with the dioptors rotated all the way down(clock-wise). Use the procedure to load the eyepieces into the holders. Now rotate the each dioptor 1/2 turn counter-clockwise. This will be the starting point to focus the binoviewer system with the telescope focuser. When close focus is achieved, fine tune each eye individually using the dioptors by rotating positive or negative. Take notice of the final position of the dioptors while system is in focus. This will help you in developing your own method of adjustment. |
