The EarthWin Optical “All In One”  Power/Filter Slide - Single Eyepiece System for newtonians must be adjusted first to assure reaching focus in all three magnifications. Once set for a particular newtonian telescope, no further adjustment will be necessary, unless used in a different newtonian. 

ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE

Step 1 - If using 1¼” eyepiece, insert the eyepiece into 2” to 1¼” adapter and thread on the supplied 2” extension tube. If using 2” eyepiece, thread the extension tube directly onto the eyepiece.  With eyepiece in and lens cap off, insert system into your focuser.
Step 2 - Push thumb tab 1 to the center position (Fig. B)  and bring to focus. If focus is not achieved, then withdraw system from focuser.

Step 3 - Un-thread  adjustable sleeve out approximately   1/4’’ and  re-insert into your focuser.  Bring to focus. If focus is achieved proceed to step 4.  If not, repeat this procedure until focus is achieved.

Step 4 - With focus achieved, tighten lock ring.  No further adjustment will be necessary unless used in a different newtonian.  

Low power - 1.4X-  push thumb tab 1 to center position, Fig. C, then bring to focus.

The EarthWin Optical Power/ Filter Slide includes two empty filter cells which can be loaded with 2’’ filters by the user. Filters are held in place by a non-marring nylon tipped set screw and tightened with a supplied hex wrench. The Filter Cells can be loaded or easily withdrawn from the housing and replaced by different cells in a matter of seconds.  Extra 2” filter cells and 1 1/4” adapter cells can be purchased separately and come in square plastic filter cases.  The Filter Slide is independent of the Power Slide so filters can be introduced at any time.

Step 1 - Completely un-thread  “adjustable sleeve”  with lock ring  and lens cell from the nose piece. Keep lens cell covered and store in case. Refer to Fig. A.

Step 3 - Load your diagonal into the Power/Filter Slide’s 2” holder and tighten. Insert your eyepiece into your diagonal.  You are now setup to Power/filter Slide.

High Power - 2X- Thumb tab 2 pushed to center position (Fig.E) Focus.

*NOTE - Lens Cell can be threaded onto nosepiece for three different magnifications.

Med Power – 1.9X- Thumb tab 1 in Left position,---Thumb tab 2 in right position (see Fig. D) and bring to focus.

High Power – 2.5X- Thumb tab 2 pushed to center position ( see Fig. E). Focus.
